Activities and Services Provided

1.Mountain climbing/Hiking

To reach the summit (2,421 meters above sea level) of Mt. Mayon is something to a climber. It gives different meaning or an achievement in life. If you are determined to climb the peak of Mt. Mayon, start your trek from Lidong campsite at Sto. Domingo, Albay. 4 hours walk with normal pacing will take you to Camp 1 where you will spend an overnight. The next day rise up early and get yourself ready for an hour (if you are an expert climber) of walk with your guide going to the summit. Hold your breath…feel the serenity of the place and enjoy the scenic landscape of Albay and nearby provinces viewed from the top. On the eastern side you will see Ragay gulf, Tabaco City and on the Western side there is Mt. Masaraga and Mt. Malinao.

  The climb to Mt. Mayon is in turn famous among local and foreign mountaineers. From time to time, Mayon conquest expedition is being undertaken and sponsored by the Department of Tourism (DOT). Reaching the summit will take two (2) days and one (1) night with a stop over at different designated camp site.

To plan a climb of Mt.Mayon, visitors must register and log at the park visitor's center, where they will be gladly assisted by the park's friendly staff.

2.Camping

Camping. At Mayon Volcano Natural Park, Lidong, Sto. Domingo, Albay, tourists could take camping under a good Mayon Forest Environ. Instead of taking a luxury hotel, one could camp, cook their own and take a walk, trek or simply meditate in the place.

    

3.Bird watching

Birds are unique and wonderful creatures. One will enjoy hearing birdcalls or songs when you are in the Park. There are 21 species of birds known to reside or visit Mt. Mayon. Commonly observed birds in Mayon Campsite are blue headed fantail and white-eared brown fruitdove. Birds are indicator species to know when a place is still unexploited or not polluted. With the aid of a telescope one can see some of this creatures early in the morning or late in the afternoon

4.photography - Many beautiful and scenic places can attract the artist or photographer to become their subject.

Amenities

1.Shade houses with picnic benches

Visitors can enjoy their lunch under shade houses built with semi-permanent material to blend with the natural setting of the place. For shed houses are available and can accommodate 10-15 persons. Fees Php. 35.00.

    

2.Administration Building

The MVNP PASu and staff stays here for registration and information of visitors. They are responsible for all the visitors at MVNP to be monitors.

    3.. Ecotrails

 Ecotrails. Visitors could choose from any trails at MVNP. There is a 3-minute trail from one to enjoy the campsite; a trail to see how rattan grows; biking trail for downhill biking; trail going to the centennial forest extended to the plantation sites; and last, trail to camp 1 and to the summit. These trails offers one to enjoy depending on their wants.
